EMDR

EYe movement desensitization and reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a thoroughly researched, effective, integrative psychotherapy approach for the treatment of trauma and PTSD symptoms. Studies show that EMDR is also beneficial to the treatment of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, OCD and other adverse life events.

EMDR is conducted, in part, by activating both the right and left brain hemispheres with bilateral stimulation (BLS) while focusing on an upsetting memory, feeling, or body sensation. BLS helps reduce the vividness of the traumatic event so that an adaptive, more positive belief can be reprocessed. I offer EMDR sessions on weekly/ biweekly 60 minute sessions, EMDR Intensives for those that want an accelerated processing, and EMDR for children.
